History
April 18, 1979 Association of Deans of Priviate Junior Colleges was established.
Dec 1, 1986 It was changed to National Association of Deans of University Colleges.
April 22, 1987 It was changed to National Educational Association of University Colleges.
May 10, 1988 It was changed to Korean Educational Association of University Colleges.
Sept 5, 1988 Got approval for the corporation of Korean Council for University College Education.
Dec 29, 1995 Act on Korean Council for University College Education was enacted and announced.
Sep 4, 2009 (Attached) Korean Accreditation Board for Vocational Higher Education opened.
Oct 5, 2011 (Attached) Research Institute for Higher Vocational Education opened.

Increasing the competitive edge of community colleges by identifying and spreading a superior educational affairs system.
Period of operation at appointed pilot university colleges : 3 years.
Appointment of an outstanding university college after the completion of the pilot operation.
* The appointed university colleges will be entitled "university colleges of superior improvement with the educational affairs system" for 3 years.
* The appointment will be reflected in the evaluation of the concerned items when assessing projects to promote specialization university colleges/lifelong vocational education colleges the next year
Appointment of a superior teaching and learning center and a research competition on teaching and learning
Promoting cases of teaching and learning activities by encouraging the substantial management of a teaching and learning center and holding a nationwide research competition on teaching and learning.
Benefits
* Appointed superior teaching and learning centers will be entitled "university colleges of superior teaching and learning center management" for 3 years.
* Awards from Ministry of Education will be granted at a research competition on teaching and learning.
* The appointment will be reflected in the evaluation of the concerned items when assessing projects to promote specialization university colleges/lifelong vocational education institution the next year.
Global Practical Training Program for University Colleges
A period of 16 weeks(4~8 weeks for education related to majors, 8~12 weeks for practical training at related businesses).
Number of dispatch: twice a year(first and second semester).
Objectives : cultivating a global mind-set and practical abilities in the area of major and reinforcing employment capabilities.
Number of participants(2014) : 550
Performance of 2013:
* A total of 558 participants were dispatched(to 12 countries including the U.S.A., Japan, China, Canada, the U.K., Australia, India, UAE, and Malaysia).
*Preferential selection and support for those who are from low-income bracket.
Globalization Project
It is to facilitate overseas employment and build infrastructure for university college students by establishing a foundation for overseas employment and educational system based on a custom employment program in connection with overseas businesses.
Establishing an internalization model for higher vocational education by running various international education and exchange programs fit for the characteristics of university colleges.
Establishing and spreading a leading model for global development and collaboration among university colleges and promoting the Korean Wave in vocational education.
Projects for institution evaluation and certification for university colleges
Running an institution evaluation and certification system to guarantee the quality of higher vocational education and build a CQI(continuous quality improvement) system.
Increasing the professionalism and capabilities of the staffs in charge of evaluation and certification and evaluators at university colleges.
Establishing an overseas cooperation system to guarantee the global equivalence and availability of higher vocational education.
Approval, appointment and evaluation projects for intensive major courses for a degree
Approving, appointing, and evaluating intensive major courses for a degree to provide opportunities for continuing education.
Quality control after the approval of intensive major courses for a degree.
Projects for helpers for college students with disabilities
Supporting the convenience of educational activities(learning, transportation, and shorthand) for college students with disabilities.
Expanding the opportunities for higher education and activating supports for college students with disabilities.
Categories of helpers: common helpers, professional helpers, and professional helpers for distance education.
